Washington, DC– Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) today issued the following statement urging Libyan dictator Colonel Moammar Qadhafi to step down and allow Libyan rebels to assume control of Libya:

"While I did not agree with President Obama's decision to send US troops and resources to engage with NATO in this effort without congressional approval, I fully support his call for the resignation of Col. Qadhafi. While the precise location of Col. Qadhafi remains unknown, it is clear that Libyan rebels, with the aid of US and NATO forces, have taken control of much of the nation. I join the President and my congressional colleagues on both sides of the aisle in calling for Col. Qadhafi to step down immediately in order to stop the bloodshed and restore order to Libya."
