May 23, 2016 Press Release

Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today announced the House passed his bill to name a Sugar Land Post Office after fallen Marine Lance Corporal Garrett Gamble of the 22nd Congressional District of Texas. Gamble was killed on March 11, 2010 while patrolling during combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was a 2008 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High in Sugar Land.

Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) acted to provide critical funding and support to our military by voting in support of H.R. 4909, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This bill authorizes vital funding for the Department of Defense to provide our service men and women the resources they need to defend our nation. This bill passed the House by a vote of 277-147.

At a recent meeting with Dr. Phil and Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, the fight to end the diabetes epidemic in America was a top discussion. Olson has introduced H.R. 1192, the National Diabetes Clinical Care Commission Act.
