Technology and communications are a critical component of both our nation’s economy and our personal livelihoods. It is important that the government and the public understand the complex issues associated with electronic communications systems, whether transmitted wirelessly or by wireline through commercial or private means. Our public safety depends on communications, Congress and the Federal government must continue to wrestle with important policy issues such as cybersecurity, privacy and data security as they continue to take center stage in an ever evolving globally connected universe.
As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I sit on the Communications and Technology Subcommittee. I am also co-chair of the Congressional Artificial Intelligence Caucus with Rep. John DeLaney (D-MD).
