Olson Acts To Name Sugar Land Post Office After Fallen Marine Garrett Gamble
Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today announced he has introduced legislation to name a Sugar Land Post Office after fallen Marine Lance Corporal Garrett Gamble of the 22nd Congressional District of Texas. Gamble was killed on March 11, 2010 while patrolling during combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was a 2008 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High in Sugar Land.
“We have lost too many brave young men and women over the course of the two long wars the United States has waged in Afghanistan and Iraq,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “America can never repay the debt that we owe Garrett Gamble and his family, but we can say thank you for his selfless commitment to serve our nation. When residents come to the Post Office in Sugar Land, they will see his name and remember his sacrifice in defense of our nation. This small gesture is one way we can say thank you to Garret’s family for raising such a strong, wonderful Marine. Garrett Gamble is a true hero and a grateful nation says thank you.”
The Olson bill, H.R. 4877 would rename the US Post Office located at 3130 Grants Lake Boulevard in Sugar Land, Texas, as the "LCpl Garrett W. Gamble, USMC Post Office Building." Every member of the Texas congressional delegation has cosponsored this bill.
