Olson Announces Missouri City Student West Point Academy Appointment
Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today announced that Tim Chou Jr. of Missouri City, TX has received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point for the fall of 2016. Chou is a freshman at Baylor University, a graduate of Hightower High School and a TX-22 resident. He is currently a Cadet Private in the Army ROTC and a member of the Army ROTC Color Guard. Tim was named to the Baylor Universityâ€™s Academic Deanâ€™s List for the fall semester. He also has a passion for participating and competing in 5K races. Olson will present Chou with a proclamation congratulating him on his appointment and remind him of the importance of serving as an officer in the United States Armed Forces. Chou is the fifth TX-22 student to receive an academy appointment this year.

Military academy appointees are evaluated for a variety of qualifications including: moral character, strong academic record, demonstrated leadership potential, physical fitness, and commitment to serve a five-year military term in the United States Armed Forces upon graduation.
