Olson Calls for IRS Investigation of the Clinton Foundation

May 21, 2015
Press Release

Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement after joining with 51 of his House colleagues in sending a letter to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) calling for a review of the tax-exempt status of the Clinton Foundation:

"Recent reports have shown that the Clinton Foundation has gone beyond its scope as a charitable organization. The Clinton Foundation failed to properly report foreign donations in 2010 and aided private business transactions. Since Hillary Clinton was serving as Secretary of State at the time, these indiscretions deserve strict scrutiny. The IRS must investigate the potentially unlawful actions of the Clinton Foundation. If the Foundation’s actions are proven to be unlawful, the IRS must revoke its tax-exempt status. Americans deserve charitable organizations that serve those in need, not organizations working for political or business gains.”
