Sugar Land, TX– Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) this week toured local businesses in Rosenberg to hear from small business owners about the impact Washington policies have on their operations. Olson visited Herradura Mexican restaurant, and met with owner, Miguel Hernandez, and restaurant staff about the challenges they are facing in today's economy. At Sabina’s Auto Repair, Olson met with Jorge Camancho, owner of a local, family-owned car repair business. While touring Joe’s Pharmacy, Olson discussed pending legislation that affects the pharmacy industry with Joe Valadez, who owns and operates the local pharmacy.

Rep. Olson said, “Texas small business owners tell me time and again that they face endless uncertainty from the Obama Administration’s policies that increase their taxes and burden their businesses with regulations. This uncertainty, made worse by the President’s new healthcare law, severely hurts their ability to expand operations and hire workers.

“In order to help these small businesses that are vital to our economic growth, we have passed legislation in the House to put a stop to the overregulation that kills jobs and creates uncertainty.  We have to get government out of the way of the entrepreneur – that is the only way to help businesses stay afloat and create jobs in this economy,”Rep. Olson concluded.
