Press Release

Sugar Land, TX– Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) yesterday met with the Sugar Land Rotary Club to provide an update on issues facing Congress, upcoming legislative battles and to answer questions from Rotary members and attendees.

Rep. Olson said, "Listening to the priorities of my bosses, the wonderful people of Texas’ 22nd Congressional District, is critical to my job representing them. The Rotary Club members in my hometown of Sugar Land spoke with me about their concerns with the recent scandals happening under the Obama Administration, including the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups for audits and the Benghazi scandal that ended with the death of a US Ambassador and three Americans. I updated members on how Congress is working to address these issues, holding hearings and demanding individual testimonies so that we can shed light on what’s going on.

“We in the House are working to ensure there is more transparency and accountability from our government, and I will keep fighting to restore the trust that so many Americans have rightfully lost in their government. I thank the Sugar Land Rotary Club for hosting this luncheon and inviting me to participate,” Rep. Olson concluded.
