Olson on Fiscal Cliff Negotiations
WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today weighed in on the so-called "fiscal cliff” negotiations:
Rep. Olson said: “Politico, a publication covering the federal government, just reported: "Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said in an interview on CNBC today that if Republicans refuse to agree to tax rate increases, the administration would go over the fiscal cliff." So unless we increase rates on small businesses, President Obama will happily let everyone’s taxes go up, gut national defense, and ignore entitlement reform? The President is obviously happy to play to the press, but not get in the room and deal with a looming crisis. Pathetic, simply pathetic."
