Olson: President Signs Garrett Gamble Post Office Bill into Law
Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) announced that late Friday, President Obama signed into law his bill, which names a Post Office after Sugar Land fallen Marine Lance Corporal Garrett Gamble. Gamble was killed on March 11, 2010 while patrolling during combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was a 2008 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High in Sugar Land.
“I thank the President for signing this bill into law,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “America can never repay the debt that we owe Garrett Gamble and his family, but this small gesture says thank you to Garrett for paying the ultimate price for our freedom. When Sugar Land residents visit this Post Office, they will see his name and remember his sacrifice in defense of our nation. We thank Garrett’s family for raising such a strong Marine and honorable American. Garrett Gamble is a true hero, and a grateful nation says thank you.”
The Olson bill, H.R. 4877 dedicates the US Post Office located at 3130 Grants Lake Boulevard in Sugar Land, Texas, as the "LCpl Garrett W. Gamble, USMC Post Office Building."
