Olson Statement on NASA Administrator Nominee:
General Charles F. Bolden Junior

Washington, DC – Rep. Pete Olson issued the following statement in response to President Obama's nomination of General Charles Bolden, Administrator of NASA and Lori Garver, Deputy Administrator of NASA:

“I am pleased that the President has named NASA's new leadership team. The unique skills that each of them brings to their positions is needed now more than ever.

Selecting Gen. Bolden is an encouraging sign of the Administration's commitment to our nation’s human spaceflight program.  I look forward to talking with each of them, and if confirmed, working with them to ensure NASA has the funding and support it needs in Congress to achieve its very worthwhile goals.

This has been a long process, but I'm hoping the Senate will confirm them quickly. Until then, my congratulations to the current leadership team and Acting Administrator Scolese on a job well done during this transition, particularly in regard to the extremely successful STS-125 mission to the Hubble.”
