Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s announcement that the U.S. reached an agreement on a new trade deal with Canada and Mexico, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA):

“Trade is the backbone of the Houston economy and vital for our nation’s continued success. In Texas alone, we have two million trade-related jobs with 380,000 of those jobs depending specifically on trade with Mexico.” Rep. Pete Olson said. “I’m pleased that President Trump worked hand in hand with Mexico and Canada to bring trade between our nations into the 21st century. I look forward to reviewing the details of the new US-Mexico-Canada agreement. I hope this agreement will mean a renewed, long-lasting deal that benefits all Americans and creates an even stronger economy through free trade between our three nations.”
