Olson Visits New Katy Fire Station
SUGAR LAND, TX – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) yesterday visited the new Katy Fire Station #2 with Mayor Chuck Brawner. There, they met with Chief Russell Wilson and first responders, including Officer Taylor Kunicki and the C Shift – Officers Trey Lee, Harry Haynes, Julio Garcia and Rolando De Leon and Medics Michael Ondruch and Christian Kugler to congratulate them on the new station and thank them for their commitment to keeping the Katy community safe.
“Our Katy community is safer and stronger thanks to the dedication of our hardworking first responders,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “In the few weeks Fire Station #2 has been open, the first responders there have already made a profound impact on our community and their quick action during times of emergency has saved lives. Thank you to Chief Wilson and all of the firefighters at Katy Fire Station #2 for all you do!”

The day after Katy Fire Station #2 opened, dispatchers received a call of a drowning child at the Homewood Suites Pool. With no fire truck yet, the C Shift officers and medics ran from the station to the hotel to save the child.
