Olson Votes Against Reckless Ex-Im Bank Reauthorization

November 15, 2019
Press Release

Washington, DC — Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement after voting against the partisan Export-Import (Ex-Im) Bank bill (H.R. 4863) proposed by House Democrats:

“I support keeping the Ex-Im Bank open and operational, but not by any means necessary. The bill voted on by the House today eliminates key congressional oversight provisions, weakens support for small businesses and guts needed reforms. I co-sponsored legislation that would have allowed for a clean reauthorization of the Ex-Im Bank, a common-sense proposal that would have broad bipartisan backing in the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. The Ex-Im Bank should be reauthorized, but it needs to be done right.”
