Small Businesses Win With the New Tax Law
WASHINGTON, DC– Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today shared personal stories via video from small businesses and their employees in TX-22 about how they will benefit from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. After the new tax law was passed, small business owners have been so excited about how the law will impact them, some wanted to share their views directly with folks. They went on the record to let people know how their business and employees will benefit from the new tax law.
“Across the 22nd Congressional District, the one thing I repeatedly hear is how the new tax law will help them grow their businesses and allow their employees to keep more of their hard earned money,” Rep. Pete Olson said. “They are encouraged that, through these savings, they will be able to give back and support other local businesses, strengthen our economy and improve the lives of so many in our community.”
“We’re going to be able to spend money on equipment that maybe we wouldn’t before,” said Andres Novoa owner, La Cocina Mexican Restaurant.” It’s going to be a little extra money for us to do improvements – hire more employees, get a van, more equipment that we need, put money into marketing. Whatever we have to do, this is the time.”
"It’s going to very much impact my family,” said Justin Mannino manager, Houston Shoe Hospital. “I’m getting thousands of dollars back that I wouldn’t’ have gotten back last year. So, that’s going to go toward bills, going to go toward paying off credit cards, going toward vacation.”
